Modifiers for E/M
«

I have a Physical therapy eval and a e/m. Our edit software is telling me the the 97001 should go first and the 99203 second. It also says that the 99203 can get the 25 or the 59 modifier. I have never seen a 59 with an e/m can anyone respond

E/M should go first with -25 indicating it's got the appropriate documentation for E/M (if in fact it does). The 97001 should have the -59 to indicate it was a SEPARATELY done service, otherwise it will get bundled.
