Recurring or Series Billing Bill Types

(1/4) > >>

jc071172:
I am doing some analysis on our billing, and I noticed the majority of our recurring or series bills are going out as 131 Bill Types. According to Medicare, an Initial Interim Bill Type is a 132, a subsequent Interim Bill Type is a 133, and the last Interim Bill Type is a 134. Shouldn't these be getting used and not just 131, even though these recurring consist of primarily outpatient therapy? Thanks.

Michele:
If you are always billing for admit thru discharge then 131 is ok.
