Has anyone used this book?  What are your opinions?  I haven't found any reviews on it although I did see some colleges recommending it for their students.

I have it. I see it has everything I have learned in the last 10 years doing this on my own. So I guess it would be a good reference for someone starting out. However I will add that there are things that I know that are not in the book.
