Delivery Tickets

mkroper:
We are having a discussion in our office that I hope you guys can help with.  We are an Orthotics & Prosthetics company and sometimes have orders for custom products.  There have been a few times when the patient never returns to get the item.  Can we bill their insurance if we do not have a signed delivery ticket?

PMRNC:
I'm just guessing here but insurance carriers will not pay for services NOT rendered. I would think if they don't pick it up, services have not been rendered.  J M H O

I agree with Linda.   You cant charge for something not done...

Merry:
For DME, it is billed to the insurance company when it is delivered to the patient, not when ordered. I think we have all said the same thing..

QueenAlicia:
I bill for DME and I bill when it is delivered.  My clients must send the tracking # so that I know it has been delivered.
