Medical terminology..BASICS is a good thing to have. HEALTH INSURANCE TERMINOLOGY is a must. Whoever told you "Medical Billing is not that complicated" may not necessarily be WRONG..but it's certainly not accurate. Truth is.. it's like any other business you want to start.. you wouldn't try to start a pizza place w/out never having made or learned how to make a pizza, <g>. You have to do your own research on what would be easy, complicated or not too difficult. Also you don't mention if your looking to learn to start your business, work at an office etc. That does make a difference. I always suggest getting some hands on in a doctors office for the real deal. There is a lot of fluff in many of the courses out there so you do have to do your research on what is right for you. If I had it to do all over again, I'd learn the basics but I'd make sure the biggest focus was on regulations, laws, and current trends and less "fluff". Many of the university courses and association courses out there either have to much "fluff" or they are extremely basic. JMHO
