That is my point exactly. I told the office he needs to code each visit. If he does not I will not bill it out.

A doctor can pay a coder to read their notes and come up with the appropriate codes. And we all know that the notes in the chart must support the codes submitted for payment. Why, then, is it a big deal if the covering doctor leaves notes for the covered doctor, and the covered doctor codes the visit(s) when they get back from vacation? A bit unusual perhaps. But certainly no different than what happens when a doctor payes a coder to turn his notes into code.

STILL would be moot with PROPER contract in place. I wouldn't code. it's not a contracted service. The situation of the attending/loucum is MOOT.. My contract with MY client spells out my obligations. I don't code. Situation is MOOT.

I don't understand your response. I was responding to the comment that it was a bit odd for the covering doctor to leave the coding for the covered doctor to do.
