Telephone Charges

Francine:
We are now billing for telephone charges to our patients with 99441, 99442 and 99443. My question is, will Medicare reimburse for these codes this year?

PMRNC:
No Medicare will not pay on these codes RIGHT now,but they might in the future. Cigna and Aetna both are paying for these codes as well as a few other insureds. Here is a good article from last year you might find helpful.

Along the same lines Telemedicine is a hot topic right now and if you do a Google search you will come up with quite a few interesting articles.

I found the same thing, not reimbursable by Medicare right now.  Linda is right, telemedicine is a hot topic, along with audiovisual healthcare.
