mental health billing modifiers

Can we and should we be using mod 59 and 25 for 99213 and 90834 (or 90832) for commercial insurance for them to pay for them to pay 2 visits on same day?

The 59 modifier is only to be used on procedure codes, when two procedures or more are done during the same visit. I don't see how that would apply to your situation. The 25 modifier may be appropriate, depending on the circumstances. I don't do mental health billing, so I can't really say for sure.

I do mental health billing.  What type of provider is it?  Need more information.

NEWUSER:
We have been using the 59 modifier for two sessions with different procedure codes on the same day - for instance, a 90834 and 90847.  We are strictly a mental health clinic.
