Billing for LADC's substance abuse counseling

I need to know what codes would be better to use in billing Medicaid, when a LADC does individual counseling with a client for substance abuse. I was looking at the psychotherapy codes 90832-90840, and 90853 for groups. Or would it be better to bill the Preventative medicine counseling codes 99401-99404? Any help would be great!

What state are you in?  I believe that your state's Medicaid probably requires that they bill using certain codes.
