I haven't ever heard of sumbitting claims on the medicare website either.  Medicare does provide free software for submitting claims.

As Pay_My_Claims stated, if your system is set up to do secondary billing electronically then you can.  We have ours set up to bill our Medicare secondaries electronic.  In fact, our Medicare requires it.

isn't it wonderful when they auto cross from medicare to the secondary!!! no hassle 2ndary claims. The claims I don't like are Prima Health IPA claims--they refuse to do electronic claims (bah)  and medicaid claims secondary to a medicare replacement plan...grrrrrrrrr

Our software does transmit Medicare secondary claims electronically, but I too have never heard of being able to actually submit these on line. In the two states I work between, we can submit claims to Medicaid via their websites, but not to either Medicare Contractors.  We also use a wonderful software program called "Remit Data" that pulls all our Medicare secondary claims that have not crossed over, and actually reproduces the remits for us...it's a wonderful AR tool...
