: How to get for paid for OV from Medicare when a Client is in Hospice?
: justcallmesky May 18, 2011, 01:43:00 PM
We have a client who currently is in Hospice but he is still coming to us, (we are his primary care doctor),  for his diabetes needs. Medicare will not pay us because he is hospice.

I read in the Medicare Hospice manual that the attending phyisician not associated with Hospice can still submit claims for payment.

Has anyone had this problem? Is there a different cpt code or a modifer that needs to be used?
Thanks for any help!

You just need to use the GW modifier - "care unrelated to hospice condition"
