What is the best way when starting out with a medical billing service from home to keep track of all incoming and outgoing transactions?
Is a certain software the way to go or just creating your own speedsheet?

I'm not sure what you mean by incoming and outgoing transactions. Do you mean claims? If so, you should have a practice management software to both submit the claims and track the payments.

I'm sorry michele I meant my account receivables and payables, any advice, because we provide a service and I noticed most software (accounting) is geared toward someone selling a product. What is the best way to keep track with your own speedsheet in excel?

I really don't know what to recommend. We use quickbooks but that isn't my department so I really can't even vouch for how it does. It seems to work well for us.
