CEU – Continuing Education Unit
Medical billing certainly isn’t the only industry to require the earnings of CEUs. Many professional indutries require them for maintaining professional certfications.
Since the inception of PMRNC’s medical billing certification exams (CHRS & CHIS) a few years back, and with having to review and audit CEUs from our certification holders, the number one complaint I receive is from members is “Why do CEUs cost so much money?” This is an understandably, a good question, especially when you have invested in both time and money to obtain your certification(s). There are several organizations and entities who provide CEUs for various certfications in the medical billing and medical coding industry. Let’s take a look at some of them as well as the costs associated with earning those CEUs.
