Hello,
For my PM software I am paying $50.00+Tax for each TIN / month, plus $65.00 + Tax /user per month. Plus I have to pay for EDI services. My monthly expense of PM is really affecting my financials. Can anyone suggest good PM system with reasonable prices. I am switching to Claim MD for clearinghouse.
Thank you.

Those don't sound terribly expensive, but you should be including those costs in your fees. You also need to take into account that switching your clients will be costly and time consuming as well. I don't pay for software, I use my clients PM Solution and if they wish to switch they can do so and maintain all costs. This allows me to be a bit more competitive with pricing plus be diversified when marketing since the provider need not lose any time in setup.

I agree with you PMRNC and I do include cost with some clients but is not successful for every client.

Not sure what you mean by it's not successful for every client..the costs you quoted above are pretty minimal.. much cheaper than most I've seen. If you are adding these costs to your clients costs but they are not paying it might not really be the software/ch fees that are the problem.

What are you paying for "for EDI services"? Are those clearinghouse fees? Or something you have to pay for your software?

Hello,
For using a billing software I pay $50/TIN/month + $65/user/month. For clearinghouse fees, I pay $0.10/claim. All ERAs are free.

I'm still not clear on how these fees are effecting your bottom line so it might be something else, as again, I don't think those prices are way out of line. I would look at the whole picture including expenses, time spent per client, rates, contract, etc..
How are you charging? Are you spending more time than you should for the amounts you are charging. If you are billing on a % there is always risk of under or overcharging.

How many claims are you doing in a month? $0.10 seems reasonable but there are clearinghouses that charge a flat monthly fee regardless of the volume so I'm wondering if your volume is high it may be a good move to switch.

As of now it is about 2500 to 3K claims / month. Going to raise to 6 to 7 k in couple of months. I am looking into Claim MD for clearinghouse switch.
I am concerned about PM system charges. currently I am paying $15k/year just for billing software. Clearing house is additional. Do you think that I am paying more for Billing software?
-
Wow, I don't know if I'm spoiled or what but that seems VERY high. We have a server based software that costs us under $3000 per year and that allows us to bill for unlimited providers. Our clearinghouse only costs us $100 per month and we are sending over 6000 claims per month.
Changing software is a huge pain. What system are you using?
-
Michelle,
I am using Advanced Data Systems. Their server is on cloud so the only benefit is that I can access PM system on my laptop from any network. I am curious that what system you use?
I used to have ADS server based which was paid when I purchased in 2009. Then they moved to cloud and want monthly user and entity fees. Plus yearly support fees.
-
YES that is ridiculously high. Also I'd think about letting your clients have cost of software completely, then let them decide if they want to switch, let them switch and you just do your job. This will increase your profit along with reducing the overhead. I've been doing this for about 11 years. I pay $0 for software, support or clearinghouse.

We use Lytec. Our system is server based but I can access from anywhere using GOTOMYPC but they also have a cloud version. The cloud version is less than $5000 per year for one seat. You can do unlimited accounts in the system.

Thank you PMRNC and Michelle,
For new major clients I have started to bill to clients for all EDI and PM. Also I am looking into Lytec and Claim MD.

If you need a contact for Lytec we use a reseller called Systems Management Group. Tell them we sent you. We do not get any kickback for referring people but they treat any of our referrals good. ;D I assume they treat all of their clients good, but I know for sure they go above and beyond when we refer someone.
There I go again Linda!
