Last month reference was paid to government contracts. Does anyone have good information on where a billing service goes to bid on these contracts? Thanks

I don't know where to send you but I would try Google.

The only thing I can think of is that I have done bid work for correctional (state run) facilities, they pay crap just so you know, and it's completely different so don't use it for experience. Depending on the contractor they set terms, etc. Mostly what I did was bill state prisoner billing for mental health, a lot of it had to be done manually as it went by inmate numbers, no diagnosis codes, very quirky indeed. I was sorry with the bid I got a few years ago and I only did it for a year, it just doesn't pay enough.

We were approached recently to do a Joint Venture on a government contract but after we read all the fine print and requirements, we determined it wouldn't be worth the time & effort.

Yeah, that's another thing, they have all these hoops to jump through and like I said, the money is yuk. Also many govt contractors won't let you use them as references and some even make you sign a confidentiality form so really there's no benefit to it. The work involved is NOTHING like the day-to-day billing so it won't even really give you any good hands on.
