Hello Michelle,

I would like to ask if CPT 99232 (sbsq hops care) goes with CPT 93501 (cadiac catheterization), should I bill with modifier 26?

Thank you,
Kristy.

Modifier 26 is used to denote the professional component of a service, for example, if a provider is reading an EKG, or an xray.  If you are looking for a modifier to indicate that they hospital visit was separate and in addition to the cardiac catherization you may want to try modifier 25 which indicates separate and identifiable E&M service.

Hi,

I have one more question regarding modifier 25: when I post CPT 93306 (replace for 93307, 93320, 93325 from 2009) with office visit, should I put modifier 25 for office visit CPTs?

Thanks so much for your helps,
Kristy

Yes, th 25 modifier should be attached to the E&M office visit code.
