Can anyone tell me what supporting documents we need to attach while sending a timely filing proof?

For electronic claims you should have a report from the clearinghouse and carrier.  For paper claims I have a stamp that says "Previously filed" with a place to fill in the original filing date and I usually send it with a letter attached ONLY if the claim was denied as late filing.

I have a copy of all paper claims as my system date stamps the claim. It does show the date it was printed and it helps since I can't change the internal stamp.

In addition to all the other answers, we also attach a patient ledger which shows the date the claim was first billed, along with the additional number of times the claim was resent (if it was sent more than once).  Which is computer generated, and cannot be altered.  Most companies accept this as proof.

thanks a lot. That was really helpful. Do we need to send a letter or any filled form along with these documents stating that the claim was filed timely manner.

I do not accept timely filing limits.

When I send electronic claims, my contract with the clearinghouse rquires them to send me a receipt report showing they obtained the claims and a report showing the insurance company received the claim.  I also run a screenprint of the account which shows when the claim was produced. That I send with a letter to the CEO of the insurance company and my timely filing denial appeal.  If I fax, the fax confirmation sheet is allowed as proof of acceptance of the claim.

When I send paper and I have multiple claims to the same insurance company, I send via registered mail or delivery confirmation.  MY post office gives me a receipt showing the date and time they accepted the envelope.  I get the receipt because I pay by debt card.

My provider contacts do not allow timely filing denials.  Even with other insurance company demands for refunds years later because of other insurance.
