I'm new to PT coding and was wondering if anyone could help me out with codes GO283 and 97014. Are they interchangeable? Does it just depend on the insurance company being billed as to what we code it as?
Thanks

They are both for Estim Unattended. The G0283 is used for Medicare, and 97014 is used for other insurances. HTH
-
Some commercial plans also use G0283 such as United Health Care.

I bill G0283 to all insurances except NYS Worker's Comp and get paid :)
-
oh, and Medicare does not pay either of these codes....
-
We get paid by Medicare using the G0283 code. Not much, but we do get $
-
for PT? Chiro does not get paid for this code, but maybe PT does?
-
Yes PT
-
ahh! PT. Because for chiro, Medicare will not pay G0283.

For chiro, you ONLY get paid for 98940 or 98941. You can bill for other services with the appropriate modifiers and the patient's secondary may pay, or if you have the ABN filled out correctly, you can bill the patient for the services NOT covered by Medicare.
