Hello I am billing for two providers with a same tax id. A patient was seen by both the providers on a same day. How can i bill two E&M's on a same day because they both have the same tax id. Any help would be greatly appreicaited

I'm assuming since they both have the same Tax ID, they are in the same group? Same specialty? Same diagnosis, not really enough info to see if there is chance of reimbursing for both E/M codes. Normally, no both would not be reimbursable.

Could they bill for extra face-to-face time (99354-99357)? Or 99215 the highest E/M due to complexity and severity?

They are from a same group but different speciality. One is specialized in cardiology and the other in Neurology. Both saw the patient with different diagnosis

You can bill two E&M's but most insurance plans will not allow two E&M's on the same day from the same group. You could try to appeal once denied, but I don't believe most will allow.
