Hello- I am a new medical biller who just landed his 1st client, a Chiropractor using a software system called Chiro 8000. I work from home and have set up a remote link to his office computer. My client has made it clear how busy he is, and that it's my responsibility to learn this software system, do his billing, post all payments, and issue monthly aging reports. This is fine with me, but I have no user guide, the software company will not issue one to me, the Doctor client has lost his copy, and I'm left to figure out this system on my own. I'm expected to bill claims electronically through a claims clearinghouse I've just established an account with. Long stort short...I need help!! Without a user guide, I'm stuck, and my doctor client is going to be expecting some payments on his backlog of claims soon. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

He will have to upgrade soon to the new 5010 version, they should send a new manual at that time.  I use Chiro 8000 and have for about 4 years.  The manual isn't a lot of help, but will get you started.  I will say that Forte Systems' customer service isn't too great unless you buy their service.

It is your responsibility to learn the software, but not without something to begin the learning process.  The provider should get another copy of the manual for you.  At the very minimum, someone in their office should get you started.

I know that you have called him "client" but to be clear, are you an employee working from home, are you an independent contractor, do you have a contract with this client/provider?  Those things matter to better understand your responsibilities.
