https://www.emailpros.com/about.html
-
we are currently using yousendit We haven't used them long, we just started with them. Not sure yet how we feel.
-
thanks, Michelle!
-
We are in the process of researching our options too. Is anybody using Hushmail, MDofficemail or protected trust?
-
I haven't used any of those, sorry!
-
Had a great demo and talked to the CEO of enlocked.com. Really like the program. Free trial!!
-
We needed a HIPAA compliant email that integrated with Outlook. This is the one we use - https://luxsci.com/a/hipaa-email.php (https://luxsci.com/a/hipaa-email.php)

Thank you for the mention of LuxSci.com
If anyone would like a demo of the use of LuxSci for HiPAA-compliant email or HIPAA-compliant web / PDF forms, please contact me or our sales team (https://luxsci.com/extranet/contact.html)
LuxSci has been providing secure email services since before HIPAA email encryption "was a thing" and does not require you to use any special software. It is HIPAA compliant email right from our WebMail or from the email program you are accustomed to -- Outlook, Mac Mail, iPhone Mail, etc.
For those of you interested, this article gives some food for thought when comparing providers ... especially ones that allow you HIPAA compliance "on demand" with Opt In email encryption:

Ok, that wasn't too much advertising.
-
I use Proton mail for PHI.
-
Michele, you wrote a few years ago, "we are currently using yousendit We haven't used them long, we just started with them. Not sure yet how we feel."
Are you still using the same service? I looked them up and don't see anything about HIPAA compliance on their main page.
-
I use Safety send. I wouldn't use any company not willing to sign a BA Agreement.
-
We must not have used it log because I don't even remember it! We use both sharefile and mdofficemail. We personally use the mdofficemail but we have providers who use the sharefile, so we use it under them for business with them.
-
Thank you, Michele. Our CPA uses Sharefile also. I was looking at that one and a few others. I'll check out mdofficemail as well. Do providers have to have the software/program too? I only work with small-scale private practice mental health providers and I may be the only one they send PHI to, so not sure they'd want the expense.
-
Just make sure the company will do a BA agreement.
-
It's not a software but a website that you log into to send your emails. If the PHI is only going one way then only the sender needs to use the email. But if PHI is going both ways then both would need a login.
-
I haven't used any of those, Which E-mail Service is best for HIPAA Compliment?
-
I'm not sure what one is best, I only know what I've used. We use MDOfficeMail. We don't have any issues and the price is reasonable.
-
Hey Michele Thanks,
But MDOfficeMail is really good or only usable for our work?
-
It works for us. We use it to send ERAs, and other PHI documents.
