This is just an FYI for those who are planning to transition to Claim MD as their clearinghouse or Office Ally replacement. Just got off the phone with ClaimMD for a Demo and was informed that the previous $100 per month unlimited is only good for 1 Billing NPI and if you have more than one, they are now charging an additional $25 per Billing NPI.

Really? We have been using them now for over a year and haven't heard of this. We will definitely be looking into it. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi Michelle,
You might be one of the lucky ones that got grandfathered.

I hope so! So far it's not changed.

Anybody know of a less expensive solution than ClaimMD?

We were disappointed when ClaimMD raised their rates, but they are still for us, hands down the best clearinghouse we've used. Our fees went up 800% but we are sticking with them. Years ago, insurance carriers used to pay the clearinghouses to receive the claims electronically. Now everyone is submitting electronically so it's no longer necessary. The clearinghouses have to make up for that loss of revenue. Compared to other clearinghouses, they are still cost effective.

Thanks so much for the info. ;)
