If a patient has Aetna insurance as a primary and BCBS as a secondary...
Aetna Allowable: $105
Aetna Paid: $83
Coinsurance: $22
BCBS Allowable: $80
Can we balance bill the patient the $22 since Aetna's allowable as primary is more than BCBS and they will not be issuing payment for the $22??

If you're PAR with BCBS I don't believe that you can bill the patient for the balance.

That's correct, if you were non par then you could collect up to the Aetna Allowable.
