Hi,
When Primary insurance Medicare transferred deductible to secondary insurance Medicaid and Medicaid denies it as paid in full..should the deductible amount be transferred to patient or to be written off?
Regards

Written off in most states, The EOB will actually tell you. Most states however don't allow you to balance bill Medicare/Medicaid
-
What state are you in? Linda is correct but I'm just concerned about if Medicaid processed it correctly. Why did they indicate "paid in full" if they didn't pay anything?
-
Its CHAMPS - Medicaid Michigan
-
I'm guessing that Medicare's allowable is more and they don't pay the Medicare ded/coinsurance.
-
So i am inclined to think that we need to write off the balance from secondary medicaid instead of transferring balance to patient.
-
Most likely yes, but I would personally contact them to just verify that information and make sure it was processed correctly. NY Medicaid doesn't pay on balances after Medicare but they do cover the Medicare deductible.

first you bill to medicaid.mcd will pay $0. after receving the $0 then post the $0 and then balance will be adjust.if u have any question then reply
