I believe there aren't any active labor codes but what CPT code would I use for time sent in labor before a transfer for the delivery.
Scenario is this: Midwife can rendered visits at home or in a hospital. In the event vaginal delivery is unsuccessful and the patient needs to be transferred for a c-section (which would be transferring out of our care for this), what do I bill for the time spent in labor before the transfer?

I am not completely familiar with billing for OB care, but from everything I am seeing there are only codes for billing for Antepartum Care only, or delivery only, when billing for partial care. I do not see any codes for billing for labor, but then transferring out for a c-section.
