MSP claims
« on: March 23, 2021, 07:27:52 PM »
I am seeking any assistance available on how to submit a Medicare Secondary Payer claim either in FSS or on paper.  I cannot find the right example to follow to submit my claims and so each time I try the claim rejects.  I have several claims that have workers comp coverage as primary but the medical claims are unrelated and should be billed to Medicare.  And all they do is tell me to file an MSP claim and if I go into FSS the claim can't be adjusted.  Please help!

You said the medical claims are SEPERATE from the WC? Did you do two seperate claims?

I would have put all the charges on one claim, submit to Work Comp, once the pay/deny, you run a medicare claim to paper, attach the Work Claim EOB and mail it in.

If the charges are unrelated to the comp case they should be billed to Medicare as primary.  Medicare knows what condition the comp case is for.  If the claim is not for those conditions then they will process.
