: Can NCV 95910/95912 be paid by Medicare/Medicaid without EMG 95886 on same day

Hello everybody,

Since September this year we started to get denials from Fidelis Medicare and Medicaid for NCV (95910, 95911, 95912) as not covered. We supposed that maybe they don't want to cover NCV without EMG billed on the same date of service? Is it mandatory to do these both procedures to get NCV paid?

Were they paying them prior to September?  If so, I would ask them to provide documentation showing why the coverage changed.  They should have some memo or document advising that it would no longer be covered.  I'm not showing anything indicating that the EMG must be done on the same date.
