Personally we don't like to reduce total AR, we like to reduce any AR over 30 days.  You need to have AR to have income coming in.  Improving your billing processes can help to keep the claims over 30 days at a minimum.  Verifying insurance prior to seeing patients, having a good claims scrubber, and working aging reports regularly all help that happen.
