Hello Everyone,
I bill 3 of my part time providers with the free software that my clearinghouse offers, my 2 full time providers are billed remotely through their existing practice management software. Things seem to be running smoothly this way (except for doing battle with the occasional insurance company). I thought of buying practice management software once my business was established, but now I'm wondering if it's really necessary. Any thoughts?

I don't have software or PM system costs at all. I access all my clients PM systems with my own login. They pay for support, costs, etc. Keeps my overhead low and saves a ton of time with unnecessary conversions.

Practice Mate, the PM part of Office Ally is GREAT for small practices and free unless 50% or more claims are to gov't payers (IE Medicare, Medicaid, etc....) Then, it's $19.99 per month in months when that happens.

This is something I can agree with Linda and Christy.
This is the best advise Linda ever gave.
You don't need any software in this business. It is better to use whatever the client has, if he has none, you can't beat Office Ally.

Agree with everyone else. Use what the client already has in place with remote log-in, and if you get a new client without software, either use what you have in place already for free, or help them get set-up with their own PM/EMR, that you can also use.
