DOT Physicals
« on: July 03, 2020, 04:29:01 PM »
Hello,
I have a practice that is starting to see more patients for DOT physicals, they are currently utilizing the 99212 CPT code, would this be the correct code? Also, what if a patient has already had a physical within the year?

NOt sure if this is the right place, but what would be the best workflow for determining if a patient had a physical and if this should be listed as a preventative ?

I hope this make sense,

Thank you,

Ruth

I would not submit DOT physicals as 992XX codes. The first thing you need to have for 992XX is a chief complaint. And there is none for a DOT physical. If you Google how to code for DOT physicals, you will find a ton of info.
