Is there a requirement on this?
-
Maybe it's too early for me, but I don't get the question. A requirement on the # of provider to bill? To bill for, or to bill, or what am I missing?

Is there a requirement that specifies that for every 1 biller, that biller should do billing for how many providers.
example: an insurance company says 3 providers to 1 biller
-
No, there is no "requirement" I can bill for a provider who only sends out 20 claims per month, so I might be able to handle more than you since your 1 provider bills out 200 per week.

Charlene is right. It varies too much from provider to provider to say how much one biller can handle. We use a $ amount usually, to indicate how much a biller can handle, but that too varies. Some specialties are 'higher end' and more can be handled. There is no easy calculation.

thanks! I was just throwing that out there. Last year, had a meeting with a Medicare representative for our area and she told my providers that Medicare allows 3 providers per 1 biller. I have yet to find anything of this nature on website, contracts, etc. I just wanted to see if anyone here had that same information given to them.
Again, Thanks
