Are there any MEDICARE guidelines or documentation regarding billing/charging for writing, refilling or renewing a prescription?

I hate giving coding advice based on vague information..however M0064 is the HCPCS code for a quick med check. Psychiatrists use this code (or should) if they are simply adjusting meds. for Non psychiatric services you should see if 99211 would be applicable.

I work for a psychiatrists office. Is it really possible to get paid by medicare for writing out prescriptions and they actually do pay? Let's say they don't come in for an appt. They call up and need another rx to mail to their mail order. Will Medicare actually reimberse us for these services?

I believe that the 90862 requires that the dr physically see the pt.

they can't get paid for writing a script on the phone  ???   ::)
