Hello,
I sure hope this all makes sense what I'm about to ask:
I have a new Physical Therapist who is seeing patients in their home. She is participating with medicare. The place of service will be 12 (home). Is there anything I need to be aware of when billing this?
Your help is greatly appreciated!

The reason I'm asking this is that I have a Nurse Practitioner that I bill fo who does home health visits (she gets referrals from DME and the referring DR). Medicare wasn't paying and after months and months from getting the run around from medicare, we finally got an answer and that was: The NP had to have a facility NPI and Medicare ID (this was her facility info in Box 32) in addition to her Billing Provider info. This was a total mess and finally after 7 months of figuring this out, she is now getting paid! I am thinking Physical Therapy is a little different and we don't have to go thru all that trouble??

Actually, all claims should have box 32 completed. That isn't just a PT thing.
