Physician Assistants Billing Sonography Services

Does anyone know if is physician assistant can bill for an abdominal u/s? Our office will be getting the equipment soon, but just wanted to know if a sonographer needed to perform this service or if a PA can? Thanks!

Depends on the state regulations, and the insurance company that is being billed and what their medical policies state. For instance, for Medicare in Florida, there are all sorts of requirements for who can perform a 93880. I would research the codes you will be billing, and check policies for any restrictions on those codes, to start.
