QMB MEDICARE ADVANTAGE

When patient has a Medicare Advantage Plan and is also QMB are we required to write off any balance or is only if they have traditional Medicare?

I believe you have to write off.  I would check noridian portal to verify patient is QMB.  It will be in bold green.

What state are you in?  If they are QMB you would bill Medicaid for the balance after Medicare.  Are you not a Medicaid provider?

no we are not a medicade provider.

Do you have them sign something stating that you are not a Medicaid provider?  If they are QMB then I also believe you have to write off any balances.

if patient is medicare QMB and patient have medicaid insurance then can we bill to MEDICAID?

If patient is QMB you would bill Medicare first, then Medicaid.
