Transition of Care

Good afternoon everyone!
I am hoping someone can help me with a Transition of Care question. My physician is insisting that he can bill for wellness visit during a transition of care period, but I was under the assumption that all visits in the 30 day TOC period were to be billed as TOC and that would not include an added wellness visit being billed.... Any insight, I have been searching but have not found any documentation to support or deny this.

It does indicate that if the patient needs another visit during the TOC period it can be billed but it doesn't specify if it can be a well visit.  I would recommend calling your MAC and asking.
