Ketamin Nasal Spray (Spravato) recently approved--code?
« on: May 01, 2019, 11:22:07 AM »
I work for a psychiatrist who hopes to offer this service/therapy in the immediate future. However, I haven't been able to find much info re: how to code the service (which involved monitoring the patient for two hours post-treatment) or whether most insurance companies will pay for it. We have had two patients receive intravenous treatment at Yale and I believe Anthem covered everything. That service/drug was $1000/shot for 6 weeks as far as i know. Any info greatly appreciated.

What I am seeing is that there is still no CPT code assigned or information on whether it will be covered by insurance yet.  :(   Honestly I hope it has good results.  There is too much depression in this country that seems to not be affected by oral medicine.
