Hey everyone!

When I bill Medicaid (Massachusetts) for VFC immunizations, will I bill the CPTs for the individual vaccines with $0 charge or with a dollar amount along with modifier SL? Any and all input is much appreciated! Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Michelle,
Thank you for your response. I'm getting different responses from 2 separate reps. One says bill the cpt code with charge for the vaccine along with the SL modifier and the other says bill the cpt codes with $0 charge for the vaccine and the  SL modifier. I was just trying to see what others experience has been in billing these.

I haven't done this in years but several years ago we billed with the $0 charge.
