For an Oral Surgery office, can a Pediatric anesthesiologist bill for a pre op visit, even tho the referring physician bills for his
office visit (consultation) in additional to the sedation he administers.

I am not a certified coder but I thought that the pre op visit was part of the anesthesiology. If there are extenuating circumstances for the need for a pre op visit that makes it separate from the procedure then it could be billed with an appropriate modifier.
