Anesthesia Billing
« on: December 23, 2019, 02:09:12 PM »
I am new to anesthesia billing and was hoping for some clarification. I understand (base unit + time unit + modifying unit x conversion factor) although i feel my total fee charge is not to what it should be. For example a breast reduction 00402 with a base unit of 5, being done in 181 minutes or 12.1 units, and a modifying unit of 1 times my conversion factor of 22.75 is only giving me 411.78 in total charges. Am i supposed to be adding the 181 minutes instead of 12.1 units? Can anyone look at my numbers and re-assure me or correct me of any errors. Thank you kindly !

Your numbers look right, although I can't verify the base units or conversion factor.  The units 12.1 are right for 181 minutes.
