Hey everyone! I’m traveling to Kyiv soon and I always love visiting local markets whenever I explore a new country. I want to see where locals shop, try some authentic street food, and maybe buy some traditional snacks or fresh produce. Is there a famous central market I should visit?

You should definitely head straight to the Besarabsky Market, located right at the end of Khreshchatyk Street. I visited it during my trip, and the historic indoor pavilion alone is an architectural masterpiece worth seeing. Inside, the atmosphere is incredibly lively and bustling. It’s a fantastic place to sample local delicacies like authentic Ukrainian salo, fresh berries, local cheeses, and dried fruits—the vendors are usually more than happy to let you taste before you buy. It can be a bit pricier than regular supermarkets since it’s right in the city center, but the cultural experience and the sheer variety of local foods make it an absolute must-visit spot.
