So I'll be honest, I bought this A8 pre-owned about three years ago and the service history was decent but I never really paid attention to the transmission side of things, I just assumed if it's not broken don't fix it. Now I'm sitting here at 120,000 kilometers and it still drives pretty smooth, maybe a tiny bit of hesitation when it's cold but nothing major, and I started wondering if I've been neglectful all this time. I came across a really detailed breakdown that covered how often should you change Audi transmission fluid full guide and it got me thinking about whether I should just leave it alone since it's been fine for so long, or if messing with it now might actually cause problems because sometimes I hear stories where people change the fluid on high mileage cars and then everything falls apart. I do a fair bit of highway driving between Dubai and Abu Dhabi and the heat here is brutal so I'm guessing the fluid has taken a beating over the years. What would you guys do in my situation, take the gamble and get it flushed or just keep driving and hope for the best? Really torn on this one honestly.
