Code 97010
«

Hi
I just called UHC today about a coding issue and they told me I miscoded a procedure. 97010 should now be billed in a G format. I wasn't aware of that code changing to a G code. Is this true. The rep said if I find the G code for that procedure it is billable.
Thank You for your help and have a great holiday.

Cathy,
I've checked the CMS site and I did not see any indication that a G code was to replace the 97010. The 2010 CPT still recognizes that code. I may be missing something, could they be possibly be referring to the GP mod. if this is PT?

G0283 replaces the 97014 code, but I don't show there is a G code for the 97010. However, UHC doesn't allow the 97010. They bundle it in with the manipulation.

I know that's what I thought. I guess the rep did not know what he was saying, because I verified with him and he said yes there is a G code but he's not allowed to tell me.
Thanks anyway. Happy Holidays!
