Hi Michele,
When you charge a provider a Flat rate do you charge at the beginning of every month or the end.

I personally charge at the first of the month. There is a 5% late fee after the 5th, and if not paid by the 10th, services are suspended on the 11th until payment is made.

You are welcome Marge. Make sure you stipulate how you invoice, and penalize in your contract. As I know it is a struggle for many new billers who are trying to get that first client and are afraid of losing them, but if a provider is going to pay, they will pay. If you cut them off after a month, they know you are serious. Allowing them to go month after month, shows weakness. They will NEVER pay on time. This is why I try to (didn't on my last one) get a start up fee. If they don't pay, they got a month of billing done, i have some money to show for it until I can get it from them. Waiting 90 days for payment isn't acceptable for me.
