Vacation Time

When you are a company of 1, how do you handle family vacations?

My brother told me to think out every scenario and one of them was vacation. I come from a large family and about 30 of us go on vacation together for 10 days in the summer.

How does that get handled when you are a home biller? I would like to know what some do in this situation? :)

i have someone who actually will cover me for vacations. I have about 2 companies that are 98% medicaid so if no billing gets done, no revenue comes in. NC Medicaid you send on Thursday, check is coming that Tuesday. Unless there are claims that are in process, if I don't send in claims by that Thursday ....well lets just say somebody gonna be pizzed

Coverage would work, or else bring your laptop on vacation.  Not ideal, but I've done that too.

Very good suggestions. Thanks. Its something to consider before starting. Need to have a game plan.

Vacation? What's that? LOL just kidding.   I have someone I can use to help out with and I too will take a laptop to check in or attend to whatever I need to attend to.  When you get into the one - two week vacations it can be really tough, we mostly take long weekends now. I have a couple of clients who actually wanted a backup plan noted in the contract which is why I thought it would be a good time to actually implement a backup plan when needed. It's also noted in my compliance plan.
