GYN preventative visits
« on: December 29, 2010, 04:05:01 PM »
Let's say the pt had BCBS in 2010, and now in 2011 is going to have CIGNA, she wants to come in for her preventative GYN exam in March 2011, she had her last preventative GYN exam in April of 2010.  Being that it would be early for her to have her exam and not a full year, would it be covered by CIGNA or could CIGNA find out that she is coming in early for her GYN exam and then not cover it.

Hope that is not too confusing, I was not sure how to answer that.   ???

It depends on if the employer is having all previous data transferred from BC to Cigna.  In most cases it is not so it wouldn't matter.  However, I wouldn't rely on that.  The best thing to do is to call Cigna and see when the patient is eligible to have a routine GYN.

Okay, that is what I did tell her to do.  Thanks.
