Performance Metrics or Evaluation from Doctors
macbook:
Good morning! This website is such a great resource.
I would like to get an evaluation of some sort or a performance metrics from our doctors, quarterly. So far I have just given them a verbal basis for evaluating our company sort of like a score card. So I will know if we have been up to standard with their expectations. Ultimately, its reimbursements. But I would like to know what the standard basis is so I may be able to know where we can improve on.
Do you ask your doctors to do a written performance evaluation for your company? How do you do it?
Thank you.
Michele:
Just to clarify, you are referring to the provider giving you a performance report on your service? Not you giving the provider a report, correct?
macbook:
Yes, for the provider to give us a score card.
Thank you.
Michele:
Well I'm curious to hear other's input on this but here's mine:
I have a hard enough time getting what I need from a provider to do their billing. Asking them to do a report card on our service would be much for most of the provider's I deal with. We do stay in contact with them regularly, try to meet to go over things, and verbally make sure they are content, see if they have any areas of concern or issues. But I've never asked them to fill out a score card. I've requested referrals, or testimonials. That's it.
CLAUDIA:
I am with you Michele; I have a hard time getting what I need from my Doctors, so I don't think I could expect a score on how I am doing my job from them. Most are too busy to bother with such details. They depend on their staff to handle all the details. And it is them you have to train and get what you need to process their claims. You could ask the staff how they think your service is doing, and ways to improve communication with them. I don't think I would ask for a "score card" though. Just my 2cents! :)
