Medical Billing in another State

(1/2) > >>

ammedbill:
I have a medical billing business in Nevada and have been approached to bill for a physician in Florida, do I need to obtain a business license in Florida to bill for this physician. I will not have an office in Florida, all claims submissions will be handled out of my office in Nevada. Thanks

medbilleror:
I wouldn't think you would need a license to bill for a Dr in Florida, but you might want to check with your state and see what the laws are.  I'm in Oregon and I bill for Dr's in Florida and don't need a business license.

ammedbill:
Thank you for your reply, I do have a business license in the state I am in, I just wasn't sure about having to get one for Florida,

PMRNC:
Not sure about licensing or registration but in general you have to follow both state reg's/rules. Means no % based billing in Florida.

Michele:
I do not believe FL requires any licensing.
