Medicare Enrollment
« on: May 31, 2011, 09:41:22 PM »
Hello Ladies

I have recently started working with a Neurologist. He wants to hire a Chiroprator to come in a few days a week to see patients. My question is if we are hiring this Chiropractor what info needs to be sent to Medicare so that we get reimbursed for her services? This is my thinking....She is suppose to add our office as a new (additional) office location, since she already has her own business, but I dont know if there is something our office needs to send to make sure we get the payments. I know she doesnt want to reassign all her benefits to us since she sees her own patients. I need help!!!

Michele

She would reassign her benefits to the group.  When she sees patients at the Neurologist's office, they are billed under her indiv NPI as the rendering provider, and the Neurologist's group info for the billing (Group NPI, EIN, etc).  Payments for any patients seen at the Neurologist's will be paid to the group.  When she sees patients for her private practice, they are billed under her info and still paid directly to her.   It's done all the time.  You just need a CMS 855R for Medicare.

Hi Michele,

I got your Medicare book. It was very helpful.  I can't wait for your new books to publish. :)
