How to Bill Observation to Inpatient Status

With commercial payers, how should we bill pro fees for Observation the changes to Inpatient? Do we bill all as Inpatient?

If the service was for a prof svc during the observation that was before the inpatient status I would bill as such.

Yes, if the patient is on observation status, we would bill an EM observation code, but when it changes to Inpatient status on the next dos, we will also bill as such. We go according to the med records. Hope this helps.
